Checkered Plate, also known as Chequer Plate or Tread Plate, is a type of metal sheet with a regular pattern of raised diamonds / rhombus or raised lines on one side, with the opposite side being blank and flat. The texture on the checker metal sheet provides traction on the surface, which makes it ideal for no-slip walkways, ramps and stairs.

Checker plates are made of different materials including aluminum alloy, stainless steel, mild steel and galvanized steel. The chequer and embossed patterns are different shape, and the theoretical weight per square meter is also different.

Checkered plate patterns are lentil-shaped, diamond-shaped, round bean-shaped, and mixed shapes. The bar numbers are 1 bar, 2 bar, 3 bar, 5 bar or 6 bar chequered mostly for anti skidding surface.

Checkered steel plates are measured and represented by plate thickness, and thickness varies from 2.5mm to 8mm, the common sheet sizes are 1250mm and 1500mm. Chequer plates users usually do not have high requirements on the mechanical properties and mechanical properties. Checkered steel plate width ranges from 600-1800mm, graded by 50mm, the length ranges commonly from 2000mm to 12000mm, graded by 100mm. The height of chequer is min. 0.2 times the thickness of the substrate.
