G4Si1 high-strength welding wire steel, a specialty welding material, is widely used in applications requiring extremely high strength and toughness. Its development and mass production are crucial for enhancing the company's market competitiveness and brand influence.


To overcome the processing difficulties associated with this steel grade, Xinyi High-Speed Steel Co., Ltd. spearheaded a cross-departmental research team, collaborating with the Benxi Steel Technology Center, Beiying Production Operations Center, and the Beiying Steel Rolling Mill's technical department. The team conducted multiple rounds of research focused on the CCT (Continuous Cooling Transformation) curve of G4Si1. With the goal of optimizing microstructure transformation and improving performance stability, the research team developed a series of precise process strategies, pre-adjusting equipment for transitional steel grades and pre-heating the insulation dome to ensure seamless process integration.


In terms of production control, the production line implements closed-loop management throughout the entire process, with clear division of responsibilities within each area and dedicated personnel overseeing key processes. From billet heating and descaling pressure control to rolling temperature and air cooling, they strictly adhered to the trial rolling plan to ensure precise implementation of process parameters. During the trial rolling process, they strengthened product dimensional control, ensured stable spinning temperatures, and ensured that all performance test results met standards, laying a solid foundation for mass production. Furthermore, through a dual approach of "refined technical solutions and rigorous process control," they effectively facilitated the smooth transition of steel product development from theoretical research to practical production, laying a solid foundation for subsequent large-scale production and stable product performance.


Currently, G4Si1 high-strength welding wire steel has achieved stable mass production, with surface quality, coil shape, and mechanical properties all meeting expectations. Next, the production line will continue to optimize the controlled cooling process, focusing on stable tensile strength control, striving to maintain a stable strength within 560 MPa. This will continuously enhance product competitiveness and further strengthen Bengang's high-end metal materials portfolio.
